ARMS and Axis Communications complete the first CAD integration for body worn cameras at Billerica Police, streamlining video management and compliance.

ARMS & Axis Communications Complete Body-Worn Camera Integration

Axis Communications, an industry leader in video surveillance, recently completed integration with ARMS Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) at the Billerica Police Department in Massachusetts. This is the first CAD integration completed by Axis.

Axis entered the Body Worn Camera market in 2020 and has rapidly been increasing the capabilities of its Axis Camera Station video management software, to include integration with public safety CAD systems.

The integration, completed in August 2025, automates the process of matching first responders with their respective video footage and the nature of the response. Axis Camera Station automatically updates the video footage category from the CAD data, eliminating some of the time-consuming administrative work often associated with the large amount of video generated from body worn cameras. In addition to adding the video category, each category is associated with a retention schedule according to local/state requirements.
